Exploring the cross-scale impacts of drought on forests

The lab group has been involved in multiple inter-disciplinary efforts to examine how drought impacts forests and the carbon cycle. In particular, we are interested in how plant physiology, demography, and ecosystem water and carbon fluxes interact with the climate and how these will affect the recovery from climate extremes. This involves a diverse group of collaborations with physiological ecologists, dendro-ecologists, hydrologists, remote-sensing experts, and carbon cycle modelers.
