Scaling drought impacts from cells to ecosystems

Exploring the cross-scale impacts of drought on forests

I have been interested in and involved with inter-disciplinary efforts to examine how drought impacts forests and the carbon cycle. In particular, I am interested in how plant physiology, demography, and ecosystem water and carbon fluxes interact with the climate and how these will affect the recovery from climate extremes. This involves a diverse group of physiological ecologists, dendro-ecologists, hydrologists, remote-sensing experts, and carbon cycle modelers.
